THe light got in

I was just sharing the story of this personal piece  titled "The Light Got In") and how it came to be mine with a friend. (See it at the bottom of this article)

I was making this piece in 2016 for general inventory for art shows. One of my best and longest standing friends, Mike (a fellow jeweler) had given me the rainbow moonstone. It cracked while setting the stone, so I couldn't add it to my inventory.

I had never worn any of my jewelry or anyone else's for consecutive days. I needed a new piece to wear to shows, so I finished this one for myself. Once I put it on, I had no desire to take it off.

Rainbow moonstone, the focal here, has such lovely luminescence because it has a lot of little internal fractures... And this stone began to shine a light on my own tiny internal fractures.  I wore it until the fall of 2018.

It revealed to me that my feminine energy needed a lot of healing. It quietly echoed the word  'joy'>>> in the unabashed joy sense...

Just simple play and lightness…I wondered, "When was the last time, if ever had I felt that?"  This collection of stones led me into a new life with new connections where I would find joy and a lot more healing.

The sterling base of the piece was created to imitate an arrowhead. Interesting that it decided to point itself at me, when the stone cracked?!!!

In the midst of this piece hanging around me and inspiring the fresh trail to play and create upon, I found my first yoga teacher training. Then, I became immersed in yoga and found that the springhead for renewable joy lay within its fibers.

The piece is topped with iolite to heal the crown chakra. The cocoa peach stones are the incredibly magical grounding stone of andalusite A labradorite teardrop is at the bottom.
