~ My Tale of Meditating Into Metals ~

"“When I began working in metals, it instantly felt familiar and I had an innate affinity with transforming and making a sort of ‘sense’ or language in metal.  It felt like I was just 'picking right back up' at something that I had done before.

I am primarily self-taught. It is enlivening to discover and find my ways through new methods all on my own. Each piece is solely and passionately hand-fabricated by myself in my California Mojave Desert studio.

I am inspired consistently by nature and  its whispers are found in every graceful line of my work. I enjoy the patterns, hues and art found in nature. I would describe my pieces as 'full of poetry that radiate a raw elegance'. As I enjoy the messages of nature so much,  I leave the soft traces of an ‘artist mark’ in the work rather than polishing them away . I am, also, influenced by spirituality, mainly Eastern types. Objects from past cultures enchant me, too.

I have a great appreciation for little details and the old-fashioned way of making things. In my work, you will definitely find an attention to detail.

If the pieces feel ‘good’ possibly bringing a comfort or special energy to the wearer, then, I feel that I have made the correct work.

I sell my work through special commissions & my site.”

In order to improve my health and the longevity of my work as a jewelry metal-smith, I became a dedicated yogi. I erased a lot of pain, gained a lot more mobility and healed carpal tunnel via yoga! And now, I am a handstand aficionado! Also, I am an instructor and love to share yoga through public group and private classes/parties.

Our beloved Sparky passed on June 18, 2022. He is such a symbol of perseverance to us...as he fought so hard to stay as long as he could by our sides. He truly loved his life.♥️

Sparky and I on a cool fall day at Joshua Tree National Park.

Our beloved Sparky reincarnated into Sunny, part dog part goat, (he is an athletic jumper) is a sweet, funny, meditative studio helper in the jewelry shop.

Ernesto & I said that if we were going to have dogs again after Deva & Sparky passed… they would have to find us. And then, Buddy & Sunny showed up at our door in Joshua Tree. I got all kinds of signs a few months before this brotherly duo magically appeared. I saw Sparky & Deva coming home to us in younger, livelier bodies.✨ There is something quite mystical about this pair. Buddy is Ernesto's right hand guy & Sunny chose me…
