Disguised by the Desert Dark
This hammered drawing on sterling is of gentle, little kit fox that is cloaked for protection by the brush & the darkness of the evening. They live in the Mojave Desert. There are a few who live just 1/4 of a mile from our place. When I first saw this family of three, they didn’t shy away & seemed like I may have been the first human that they had encountered. The next time they sought the refuge of their cabin slab, going underground when they saw me.
Almost all tail, ears & eyes this tiny creature slips around & hunts after sunset.
Below the drawing is a black tiger eye that shows its subtle rays of blue, grey & amber as it turns in the light. Its casing is handmade by me like the drawing. The casing is created from a sterling & brass mix . This is a one-of-kind piece. Tigereye builds strength & it is a grounding stone. It is protective as it wards-off negative energies.
The brass chain is American-made & has it a hypersthene bead at one end. The clasp is gold-plated. All of the metal is oxidized.
