Amethyst: Bringer of Clarity
Amethyst in Ancient Greek means ‘not drunk’. When we are not under the influence of our addictive patterns, behaviors and/or substances, we have much more clarity & can regulate our emotions more easily.
Interestingly, when the Pandemic brought the Shutdown, another jewelry artist asked me to store about 200 lbs of her amethyst. And when the Shutdown occurred, I was anxiety-ridden for a couple of days and then something clicked in for me to simply ‘trust’. I was able to maintain that state throughout that whole ordeal. I wonder how much the mass of amethyst around my home aided me?
Amethyst delivers calm, clarity and emotional balance to the wearer/user. It helps us develop our connection with the Divine, God, Spirit, the Source, etc by quieting the nervous system enough so that we can intuit what we are feeling & to see /feel our truth(s).
Amethysts activate the third eye & crown chakras helping the user to act from a higher frequency more often. The third eye activation aids in building psychic abilities along with honing intuition.
Amethysts were once prized stones like emeralds, rubies and sapphires until the 1800’s, when a massive mine was discovered in Brazil. Then, they fell in value and have remained a lower cost stone, in general.
Amethysts are found where there are volcanic deposits along with trace amounts of iron. Larger amethyst mines are in Canada, Namibia, Uruguay, Russia, India, Brazil & Madagascar.
Amethysts range in color from lavender to a reddish-purple to dark violet. Those heavy in red hues are often more valuable.
This stone has a moh’s hardness of 7 making it generally tough and durable one.
